Just a bunch of water towers

It’s basic. I know. But every time I drive through some grungy, nearly deserted town, I want to take a picture. This is especially true if they have a nice decrepit-looking water tower. The closer it looks to falling down, the better.

I didn’t notice my obsession until I got bored enough to start organizing my photos. There they were — water tower after water tower. Many of them have the same setup, the same angle. It turns out I’m not very innovative with my water tower photography. I also accidentally call them waterfalls fairly often.

One thing I can say, however, is that I’ve improved over the years. Now I at least make sure part of the car door isn’t in the shot.

So here it is — my photos of small-town water towers from across (mostly) the Midwest. It’s quite possibly the most useless thing I’ve ever done.
